Amazon, Flipkart, got notice for selling counterfeit products.
On selling counterfeit and rejected cosmetic products, the Drug Controller General of India (DCGI) has sent notices to several e-commerce companies including Amazon, Flipkart. DCGI found out that many such imported products are being sold on these websites, which are not allowed to be sold in India. Companies have been asked to respond within ten days. DCGI has warned the companies to take legal action when they do not get the reply.

DCGI's Drug Inspector raided various parts of the country on October 5 and 6, which showed that imported brands of indigenous cosmetic and unregistered licenses are being sold on the e-commerce website without registration. After this, a notice has been issued to companies like Amazon, Flipkart, and IndiaMart. When contacted by Amazon India, the company said that whenever such a case comes to the company, strict action is taken against vendors selling illegal and counterfeit goods.
